Coating
What is Coating?
Process
Seed is coated by applying a thin, uniform layer of inert, water-soluble material to the outside of the seed. This process is particularly desirable for irregular-shaped seeds.
Coating Color
The standard coating color for Seed Technology Services is a vibrant yellow. This color is favorable due to its high visibility.
Weight Build-Up
Our typical build-up weight is 100% of the seed weight. This will vary depending on the lot and the crop. This additional weight benefits sowing for fly-away seed.
Lead-Times
For most crops, our standard lead-time is ten (10) working days from the day the seed arrives until it is shipped to the customer. Lead-time will vary depending upon time of year and size of order.
